Rough figure of a pikeman of the Tercios. They the earth of the Tercios and the service in the pikes  is great honour for every soldier. The pikeman is armed with a pike and a defensive kit, further the pike belong a sword or a dagger and his armour was reinforced with metal straps.

The pikeman wear helmet, the famous “morrion”, and sometimes a little rounded shield, the “rodela”, But the normal was what no one pikeman wear a total body protection and even fight without any protection in this case they were called “Dry Pikes” (picas secas). His post in combat was the more dangerous but also the honourable. The honour and pride are vital for this men.
