Founded in Majorca  in his origin this unit was called Marquis of Vivot own Regiment Voluntary, for his founder the Marquis of Vivot. After change his name for Palma and battled in the zone of Catalonia.





This figure joined the characteristic of the popular insurrection against the French, for one side the ate to the invader and for another one a deep patriotism and  love for Spain and his traditions. For this along the spanish geography growing the voluntary units like this Palma Regiment what fight to the invaders along the war and in different scenarios of the conflict.




Today the Infantry Regiment “Palma” Nº47 with garrison in the Balearic Islands make the ceremony of change of guard in the Almudaina Castle see of military government of the islands with this foundational uniform.
