Ros Cap of a cadet of the Military General Academy of Spain (Code: BO038)

This Ros cap is the head pledge of the high dress uniformity what wear the cadets of the Military General Academy placed in Zaragoza. This uniformity is the same of the first times of the academy when begin his way in the lasts years of the XIX century.

His name come from the General Ros de Olano what introduce this pledge in the uniform in the Spanish Army in the year 1855 when he were General Director of the Infantry Branch, was used in first time by 2º Battalion of Madrid Rangers (Cazadores de Madrid). In 1860 after the Africa War (1859-60) his use was them generalized specially in infantry corps and in someone mounted units.

Basically is a variant of the chacó hat, finished in felt and cork, with vizor in varnish leather, with the front higher than the back side. Is finish with all details how can be appreciated in the painted of the tuft of feathers.
